My husband was given copy of this book to get his military "take" on it. He generally doesn't read novels but devoured this one. I had to read it myself to find out what kept his nose in this book. The Vengeance Trap is one of the best books I have ever read. The romance is sweet, sexy and even funny sometimes - but not overdone. The action is nerve wracking.

I am pretty well-traveled, but learned a lot of new things about places and cultures. Parts of the book hit on some very controversial subjects that made look at some of my beliefs in a different light. AL Hansen has managed to write a great adventure book that also give you lots to think about. And I commend him for donating his royalties to our wounded veterans.

What about Capper & Ivy? Now here are some funny people! She’s this sexy tall blonde who likes to do it in dark corridors, real quick like, (whew! she’s so hot!) and he will tell you himself that he is just a big kid. Yet they are working for the CIA, (she reminds me of Valerie Plame) and their job is to make friends with–yeah, Kathleen and Omar. Seems we can’t ever get very far away from those two. But I still like Capper and Ivy better. They’re a lot less complicated, but I don’t know what’s gonna happen when she lays the law down and says it’s time we had a baby–he ain’t gonna wanna go there aytall! What’s he need with a kid when he is one himself?

First, I really enjoyed The Vengeance Trap but....... Who is Kathleen, really? I mean, she’s not like your typical heroine and I’m not sure I understand her.

Look I’m not some kind of saint but Kathleen . . . sometimes I love her, sometimes I hate her. She’s got two boys: Shafi who takes after his dark-skinned father, and Michael who has her Irish features. One minute you want to cry for her because you can see how much she loves those boys, and the next minute I get really mad at her because she’s off doing something for the IRA that could get her killed!

Maybe she thinks if she gets it, the kids will have their grandparents. But, hey, did I miss something? Aren’t they kind of old to suddenly raise two young kids? What is she thinking of?? She knows the enemy won’t think twice about bombing somebody’s home and killing everyone inside. She’s seen it. Doesn’t it ever occur to her that this could happen to her kids and to Omar, the guy she supposedly loves?

Even though he’s made his millions by pirating he makes a better parent than she does actually, because at least he tries to steer the kids in the right direction–like that time when Shafi broke down and cried because of the prejudice he had to put up with and Omar comforted him so tenderly.

I’m confused about these two people, as individuals and as parents.

Hi,

My friend read a review copy of this book and couldn't stop talking about it. He said he hasn't gotten so absorbed in a novel in a long long time. I can't wait til it comes out so I can read it too

I am curious about why the author, Mr.? Hansen decided to give his money to this program. Does he (she) have a wounded relative in this war? Just curious - sorry if I am being too intrusive.

Anyhow - I think it's a great thing to do and I wish you the greatest success with it!

Best wishes - marleosoo
